Motorola Announces Moto Razr 40 Series Launch In India: Price, Specifications And More Revealed
Motorola has given a hint that the Moto Razr 40 series, which includes the Razr 40 Ultra and Razr 40 flip phones, will be launched in India. This follows the global launch of the phones, including in China. Motorola India’s Twitter account posted a teaser message that reads, “A #FLIPin’ awesome gift awaits. Coming soon to India.”
It remains unclear whether the phones will be branded “Razr 40” as they are called “Razr” and “Razr+” in the US.
It has also been confirmed whether the brand will launch both the phones – Moto Razr 40 and Moto Razr 40 Ultra – in India or only one of them will come to the Indian market. The brand already has a product pop-up on its Indian website that says ‘Flip The Script’ and users can log in and get more details about the device when it becomes available. Notably, the Twitter teaser and website popup only show one phone.
Motorola Moto Razr 40 Ultra and Razr 40 specifications
Powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Motorola Moto Razr 40 Ultra gets a 3.6-inch OLED flip display with a 144Hz refresh rate. When folded, it flips over to reveal a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. It has a dual camera setup – including a 12MP main camera with f/1.5 aperture and OIS, and a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens (also a macro lens) with f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, you get a 32 megapixel camera. The phone is powered by a 3,800mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging.
The cheaper of the two, the Moto Razr 40, runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It has a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED display inside and a 1.9-inch AMOLED display. You get a second primary camera with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, but it shares the Moto Razr 40 Ultra’s 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. It also has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
Motorola Moto Razr 40 Ultra and Razr 40 Expected Price in India
In China, the Moto Razr 40 Ultra starts at CNY 5,699 (roughly Rs. 65,000) and the base variant of the Moto Razr 40 costs CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 45,000). We can’t comment on the price of the phones in India, but it is expected to undercut the offerings from Samsung and OPPO, which cost quite a bit of money in India.
